Aquaponics Powered by Garbage Dump in New England

The Keene Energy and Agriculture Project will offset around 7,000 metric tons of CO2 annually. It will also produce 500,000 lbs of fresh vegetables and 66,000 lbs of tilapia.

The heating and power for the greenhouse will come from burning methane released by the city's garbage dump and will recycle almost all of its water. The roof of the greenhouse will collect and store rainwater.

This carbon-negative sustainable food production system is just what is needed given the state's four year drought.
