Stewart Farms wants to establish Canada's largest aquaponics and indoor vertical farming system in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. The system is projected to grow two to three million pounds of leafy green produce. The system will be installed in a 100,000 square-foot building that was previously used by a company that made fences. They are currently in the environmental impact assessment phase and hope to be operational in 2017.
Leafy greens will be grown on stacked shelving with LED lights.
